The Ottawa Film Office (OFO) is pleased to announce that it’s currently seeking new members to sit on its Film and Television Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee’s role is to provide industry insight to the OFO and its Board of Directors on areas that will advance the city’s capacity to attract film and television production to the Ottawa region, foster the growth of the local industry, create and maintain jobs, and promote the region as a desirable production destination.
Ideal candidates will have at least five years of professional experience in the film, television and/or animation industries, preferably in senior positions that are directly involved with hiring or supporting crew and talent (e.g. producers, production managers, department heads, union reps, etc.). Applicants must also be based in Ottawa and perform the majority of their work in this city.
Interested candidates should send an application consisting of the following documents, via email to [email protected], to the attention of Bruce Harvey, Ottawa Film Commissioner:
- An introductory letter demonstrating your experience and interest in joining the Committee
- A current résumé, filmography, or link to your IMDB page or LinkedIn profile which clearly demonstrates your experience in the film, television or animation sector
The Film and Television Advisory Committee meets 3-4 times per year to discuss issues affecting the local industry and provides advice to the OFO’s Board of Directors through the Committee’s co-chairs. Members are strongly encouraged to attend all meetings (temporarily held remotely) and must commit to attend at least half of the meetings held each year. Members serve two-year terms with the possibility of re-appointment. All members serve in a volunteer capacity.

To better represent and address the views, challenges, and experiences of the local production community, we are strongly encouraging applications from marginalized communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+.
The deadline to apply is March 19, 2021. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected to proceed in the nomination process will be contacted.
