Tsenu Zelleke
Communications & Administration Coordinator
I am a dynamic communications strategist and policy analyst driving impact at the intersection of media, entertainment, and community building. As a Public Affairs and Policy Management graduate from Carleton University, I have consistently excelled in roles at the United States Embassy in Ottawa, the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, and the Canadian Media Producers Association.
My commitment to continuous learning led me to participate in prestigious leadership programs provided by Developing Young Leaders of Tomorrow Today (DYLOTT) and the Reelworld Screen Institute. As a 2022 Reelworld Black Entrepreneurs Program alum, I developed expertise in talent curation and industry dealmaking, building a talent agency with rosters of film/TV and music creatives. This experience fuels my advocacy for gig-economy creatives, allowing me to collaborate with local organizations like Apt613 and Debaser, where I highlight their importance to local economic development.
In my role at the Canadian Media Producers Association, I strengthened public relations expertise through internal and external communication strategies while amplifying advocacy efforts for the Online Streaming Act and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
I am excited to bring my ambition and experience to showcase Ottawa as an integral part of Canada’s film production ecosystem.
I am also very much involved in the industry as I regularly participate in various festivals and organizations as a juror, mentor, panelist, and research adviser.
I am dedicated to using my creative, leadership skills and, negotiation abilities, with a human touch, to choose and execute projects that align with my vision of diversity, inclusion, and sustainability in the film industry.
