Sheldon Kiishkens Ross McGregor
Public Speaker, Algonquin Cultural Resource, Artist, Entrepreneur and Investor
Sheldon McGregor is an Algonquin Anishinaabe from Kitigan Zibi, Quebec. Growing up on the reserve, Sheldon learned how to speak the Algonquin Language from his grandmother Bernice Wagoush and grandfather Hector McGregor. He currently works with Elder Peter Decontie as an apprentice in the Sacred Fire Ceremony and with Algonquin nation elders in transmitting knowledge through traditional processes. He is a Graduate of film studies at Carleton University. Sheldon has also worked with the Cree Of James bay Quebec through the James Bay Cree Communications society. The projects were called Weskatch and Depatchimun and involved recording the oral transfer of first nation knowledge through recording in the Cree Language on the Radio. Sheldon has also Worked on various film projects but most notably is Bootlegger which premiered in 2021.
